2018 Board Members
Whitney Magnuson is currently serving as the USC Alumni Club of Austin's Board President for 2018 and has been a Board member since 2007. Whitney graduated from USC in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations. She has lived in Austin since May of 2006 and is currently the Head of Global Social Media & Influencer Programs for IBM Systems. Whitney is a travel aficionado, and runs a travel consulting business as a side hobby.
Joslyn Priddy joins us for the first time on the board as the Communications Chair. She graduated from USC in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and minor in Business. Joslyn moved to Austin in July of 2017 and currently works at Facebook manning a portfolio of sports team and league clients. Previously she worked on the digital media team at the NFL Network and during school, worked under both Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin in the football office. Joslyn was born in Texas and is excited to return to her home state to represent the Trojan family.
Proud to call Austin home after relocating from NYC in 2017, Jeff Tamaru is in charge of helping ATX Trojans expand their professional opportunities as the Development Chair. He's USC class of 2013 with a BS in Business from Marshall in addition to a BA in East Asian Area Studies. Jeff currently works for Time Inc. focusing on new product strategy and business development. On the weekends you can find him searching high and low for the spiciest food Central Texas has to offer
Nelson Brooks serves as the Finance Chair for the USC Alumni Club of Austin Board. He graduated in 2012 from USC, with a Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Architecture. While not a native Texan, Nelson has been in Austin for about 2.5 years and moved here to start his career in tech sales, and currently works for small social media management software company. While on campus, Nelson perfected the art of walking backwards while representing the University as a campus Tour Guide.
GAME WATCH chair
Mike Olivares returns to the Board as the Football/Game Watch Chair. He has lived in Austin since 2008 and currently works as a Systems IT Admin for a Rehab Therapy company called ONR Inc. Mike is a lover of craft beer and helps bring awareness to the local craft scene here in Austin through special tappings, bottle shares and community fundraisers.
Service & scholarship chair
Schuyler Corbin joins the Board for the first time as the Service & Scholarship Chair. He graduated from USC in 2017 with a Degree in Business Administration. Schuyler moved to Austin soon after graduation to start his career as a Product Manager for IBM Watson & Hybrid Cloud. During his time at USC, Schuyler was an equipment manager for the 2017 Rose Bowl Championship team
Lauren Stoll returns to the Board for the second time serving as the Social Chair. She graduated from USC with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2005 and a MBA in 2009. Lauren has lived in Austin since 2011 and currently works as the VP of Client Partnerships & Head of Retail at an advertising agency called HYFN Media. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys playing with her two rescue dogs and volunteering with animal rescue organizations here in Austin.
Lenny Schefke is our super fan Spirit Chair for the 2018 Board. Lenny has been a member of the USC Alumni Club of Austin Board since it was officially recognized over 10 years ago and has been a fan of the Trojan football team since before he can remember. Lenny has lived in Austin since 1995 and is currently an Independent Contractor for Logistics Co. Lenny is such a huge fan that he even has two tattoos of Pete Carroll on his calf as well as a license plate that reads: TXTRJN.
Presidents Emeritus/Members at Large
Chris Scheppler served as the of the USC Alumni Club of Austin's Board President in 2017. Chris graduated from USC in 2001 with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has lived in Austin since 2006 and is the Founder of a star-up called Cloud Nerd. In his spare time, Chris is working with various local groups to gain support for bringing professional soccer to the Austin area.
Hadley Hempel was the President of the USC Alumni Club of Austin's Board from 2010-2012 and has been a Board member since 2009. She graduated from USC in 2004 with a Degree in American Studies. Hadley has lived in Austin since June of 2009 and is current a Product Marketing Manager for IBM Power Systems. She is an active community volunteer and currently sits on the boards of Young Women's Alliance, the Young Women's Alliance Foundation, and New Milestones Foundation.
